ID Split Rings
It's a LEGAL requirement that all captive bred birds of prey are rung with a closed ring when they are ten days old or so, however there are times when this is not possible and the bird grows up with no closed ring. If this is the case, and you want to ring your bird for commercial or identification purposes, then a split ring is the best solution.
Split Ring Bird Registration
This service is for split ring registration only, for closed ring registration, please
click here. This page deals with the registration of your bird and the supply of its split ring. Registration will mean that if your bird is lost and found anywhere in the world wearing one of our rings, ID RINGS can be contacted using our unique web URL and your bird's unique number marked on the ring. Once we are notified, we then contact the owner of the bird from the details we hold on our registration database. Your details are never given out to the other party, you then contact the other party to discuss collection.
Bird registration also means that you can contact us if you lose your bird so that we can inform our network of contacts. Notification of your lost bird is also advertised on the UK Falcons Birdmart page, free of charge. Bird registration is a vital part of your bird's welfare, the unique number allocated to your bird makes sure that if lost and found, your bird can be easily identified and returned home.
